Remembering Frank Grimley

Long-time Protect Our Benefits Champion Passed Away in September

Even though he wouldn’t benefit directly from the passage of Prop A, Frank Grimley was a staunch supporter of Protect Our Benefits. He was the campaign’s biggest advocate from its earliest days, donating thousands of dollars to the cause over the years.

Frank Grimley passed away Sept. 25 at the age of 90.

Frank retired as a captain in the San Francisco Fire Department in 1997. Long-time friend and colleague Rich Kosta explained that Frank really cared about Protect Our Benefits, though his benefits weren’t impacted.

“He was an all-around great guy,” Rich said.

Frank is survived by his wife Susan and four daughters.
